My Story
My journey as a yoga teacher is new but my journey with yoga and embodied practises is not. Born in Sweden a Bulgarian-Japanese mix I left the snow-coated peaks to study in Japan and travel Asia, eventually landing in London.
Swopping raving for yoga I soon found myself at my first Bikram class (ca 2001!). I fell in love with the intensity and how quickly it made me feel different in my body. It was the first exercise I'd done that I actually wanted more of. (and years later it became clear it's not just an exercise ...)

Food
These first years in London I dived deep into the alternative food and festival scene, learning how food can affect us, with whole-food nutrition and Ayurveda as important influences. I was doing part-time in a health food shop and even worked as a chef in a nomadic sauna at festivals. Eventually I bought my first laptop and started graphic designing for health and raw food brands.
Art
I completed a degree in Dance and Visual Art in Brighton, trained in butoh (a physical theatre practice originating in post-war Japan) and developed my own performances, all while dipping in and out of yoga (I was broke and the Queen of studio intro offers!).
Eventually my loves - food, art and design - all merged into the birth of my Instagram Shiso Delicious. This also kicked off my current career as a food photographer, stylist and cookbook author.Yoga Teacher
After living in a yoga studio-free zone for a few years I came back to a daily practice just as the pandemic hit. The practice gave me strength and comfort though a hugely transformational time and as I came through, I decided it was time to give back. I took my first 200hr training in 2024 and since then there's been no holding back (neither in teaching or taking additional trainings!) - I love sharing the practice that continues to improve my life in every way, every day.

4Beat4Beat focuses on synching breath and movements to a steady 4:4 soundtrack - inhale on the beat for 4, exhale for 4. This way you can always find your way back to your breath, making for a meditative experience of a physically strong class.See you on a mat out there!Sara x
